As a young girl in Singapore, our CEO, Cheryl, had Helpers (at the time, called “Maids”) that looked after family. They were from the Philippines. She would often spend time with her Helpers, many of them mothers who had left their children and families in the Philippines to earn a living – despite many of them having a good education.
Since then, through her journey of personal and business growth, Cheryl discovered the opportunity to combine her passion for connecting people, helping others in business, and creating a business with social impact by starting “Your Property VA”. The goal was to provide Australian business owners with affordable but talented support from Virtual Assistants from developing countries, that could help businesses to systemise and grow, and give great work opportunities to Virtual Assistants.
The Philippines was her first and only choice as Filipinos are known for their great customer service skills, work ethic and excellent english.
Cheryl also wanted to give Filipinos the opportunity to work from home to experience the benefits of work/life balance. Ironically, as the Coronavirus pandemic spread across the world and lockdowns came into force in early 2020, working from home for Filipinos not only became a lifestyle choice, but a necessity, and safety measure during the pandemic.
Cheryl and The Growth Hub team are determined to create a business that combines profit, purpose and people as significant drivers of positive change in the world.
